Board of Oman Academic Accreditation Authority Holds Second Meeting in 2025

Muscat, 22 Jun (ONA) --- The Board of Directors of “Oman Authority for Academic Accreditation and Quality Assurance of Education” today held its second meeting in 2025.

The meeting was chaired by Dr. Rahma Ibrahim Al Mahrouqi, Minister of Higher Education, Research and Innovation, Chairperson of the Board of Directors of “Oman Authority for Academic Accreditation and Quality Assurance of Education”. It was attended by Dr. Jokha Abdullah Al Shukaili, CEO of the Authority.

During the meeting, the Board approved the Authority's estimated budget for the year 2026, looked into updates in the “National System for Evaluating School Performance”, reviewed a form on the disclosure of conflict of interest (for Board members) and took note of “Oman Core Academic Learning Outcomes” programme.

The Board approved a number of evaluation reports about institutional standards that were previously presented to the Board, including reports of the “National University of Science and Technology” and “Oman College of Management and Technology”.

The Board also reviewed the results of alignment of a number of national qualifications offered by some qualification-awarding authorities in line with the requirements of the National Qualifications Framework.

Those included the result of alignment of the Advanced Diploma in Computing (Software Development) qualification that is awarded by the Scottish Qualifications Authority through Muscat College.
