Road Projects Planned for Al Dhahirah Governorate Reviewed
Ibri, 12 Jun (ONA) --- Eng. Said Hamoud Al Maawali, Minister of Transport, Communications, and Information Technology, reviewed upcoming road projects in Al Dhahirah Governorate during a meeting held today in Ibri. The meeting was attended by Najib Ali Al Rowas, Governor of Al Dhahirah, and several officials.
The meeting discussed key ongoing projects in the governorate, their implementation status, and future infrastructure needs in the transport and logistics sector. It also addressed periodic maintenance projects for ministry-affiliated roads and communication networks across the governorate’s wilayats and villages, as well as updates on the digital transformation plan for Al Dhahirah. Additionally, the meeting explored knowledge exchange and training in digital transformation and artificial intelligence to enhance government service quality and improve user experience.
The Minister of Transport, Communications, and Information Technology noted that the ministry is preparing to implement several projects to improve road efficiency in Al Dhahirah Governorate. Key projects among these are the Wadi Haybi Road, connecting Al Dhahirah with North Al Batinah Governorate, and the Al Dhahirah-Al Buraimi link road.
The ministry will also tender a dual-carriageway project leading to the Rub' Al Khali (Empty Quarter) border crossing, including service roads. These projects will strengthen Al Dhahirah’s strategic connectivity with Saudi Arabia and neighboring governorates.
The meeting also reviewed proposals and requests submitted by governors and municipal council members aimed at advancing the road sector across the governorate’s wilayats.
