Labour Ministry Organizes Professional Performance Forum in A’Dakhiliyah Governorate

Nizwa, 10 Dec 2025 (ONA) --- The Ministry of Labour today organized a forum in the Wilayat of Nizwa, Governorate of A’Dakhiliyah, on the importance of the “National Strategy for Professional Standards”. During the forum, the Ministry outlined the strategy’s role in enhancing performance.

The forum was held under the auspices of Sheikh Hilal bin Said Al Hajri, Governor of A'Dakhiliyah. It highlighted the role of the “National Strategy for Professional Standards” in promoting performance, improving the quality of training and national cadres’ readiness to join the labour market in accordance with clear-cut standards for each profession.

The forum included a presentation by Dr. Mohammed Mustafa Al Najjar, Director General of Training at the Ministry, on mechanism of introducing professional standards.

Al Najjar spoke about the stages of developing standards, in cooperation with the departments concerned, and the process of linking such standards to the system of professional licenses. He identified the target sectors in the current stage and briefed the gathering about envisaged expansion plans during the next stage.

The forum also saw a review of mechanisms for applying professional standards in the work environment.

For his part, Dr. Shafiq bin Darwish Al-Abri gave a visual presentation about vocational education institutions’ role in aligning academic study programmes with professional standards that respond to labour market needs.

The participants reviewed success models of application of the “National Strategy for Professional Standards” across various sectors.
