H.M the Sultan visits the Islamic Republic of Iran / Statement
MUSCAT, June 16 (ONA)--- His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said will pay a three-day official visit to the Islamic Republic of Iran late this month . The Diwan of the Royal Court issued the following statement: "In a bid to enhance the historic strong relations that bind the Sultanate and the Islamic Republic of Iran , out of His Majesty the Sultan Qaboos bin Said's keenness to cement the principle's of good neighborhood between the Sultanate and its neighbors in the region and in response to the invitation extended to His Majesty by the Iranian President Dr. Mahmoud Ahmadinejad , God's willing , His Majesty the Sultan will pay a three-day official visit to the Islamic Republic of Iran late this month. His Majesty the Sultan will be accompanied by a high level official delegation comprising Sayyid Ali bin Hamoud al Busaidi, Minister of the Diwan of Royal Court, Gen. Ali bin Majid al Ma'amari, Royal Office Minister; Yousuf bin Alawi bin Abdullah, Minister Responsible for Foreign Affairs; Ahmed Bin Abdulnabi Macki, National Economy Minister and Supervisor of the Finance Ministry ; Abdul Aziz bin Mohammed al Rowas, H.M the Sultan's Advisor for Cultural Affairs, Dr. Ali bin Mohammed bin Moosa, Health Minister; Maqbool bin Ali bin Sultan, Commerce and Industry Minister; Lt.Gen. Malik bin Sulaiman al Maamari , Inspector General of Police and Customs, Dr. Mohammed bin Hamed al-Rumhi, Minister of Oil and Gas, Sheikh Yahya bin Abdullah al Fannah al Araimi , the Sultanate's ambassador to the Islamic Republic of Iran. The visit stems from His Majesty the Sultan's keenness in boosting existing bilateral relation between the Sultanate and the Islamic Republic of Iran in all fields that serve the interests of the Omani and Iranian friendly peoples as well as the peoples of the region besides discussing the issues of interest for both sides in light of the developments on the regional and international arenas. -----End MS/ |
