Water supply project in Dhofar Governorate Opens

 

 

 

Mirbat, Feb 8 (ONA)- The potable water supply project that cost more than RO. 2 million for a number of villages at the wilayats in Dhofar Governorate today was opened at the Niyabat of Tawi Aatteer in the wilayat of Mirbat under the auspices of Abdul Qadir bin Ahmed al Haddad, deputy head of Dhofar Municipality.

 

     Eng. Saif bin Sulaiman al Amri, Director of Aflaj Department at the Regional Municipality and Water Resources Ministry delivered a speech in which he pointed out that the Sultanate showed special interest in water and strived to establish an integrated system for efficient and balance management of water resources.

 

      He added that the project serves 13 locations distributed onto the different wilayats. He added that the project, which took two years to complete, contributed to availing water for different uses.

 

     After that the chief guest unveiled the plaque of the project and accompanied by the attendees, he toured the project installations.

 

    The project includes 8 overhead tanks, 88 cubic meters, 18 pumps and 13 electricity generated operation room, in addition, to 39 km long pipeline to transfer water from water wells to overhead tanks.
